AN APPALLING BUSINESS MODEL!Q
If I could give no stars I would.
We ordered two standard fuchsias at £18:00 each and when they arrived they were virtually dead. However, my husband thought he could save them. He did everything one is supposed to do but as each week passed the plants deteriorated.
We sent photographs of the two dead plants in their pots and heard nothing.
We contacted them again and still no reply.
A DREADFUL COMPANY!!!
Since our experience we have heard from many friends and family who had recommended Suttons that they have had similar experiences and will NEVER use them again.
To a massive company this is of little consequence at the moment but they should heed the adage ‘from little acorns mighty oaks do grow.’
Not however, if the acorns were purchased from Suttons!

I don't usually write reviews, but I ordered 72 little lime hydrangea plug plants on the Suttons website. I emailed before ordering to confirm that they were plug plants and received an email back to say yes, 72 plug plants. So I ordered and paid, and was directed back to their website confirming the order of 72 plug plants and saying dispatch within 24 hours.
However, I didn't receive a confirmation email or hear from them again until chasing my order 2 weeks later when it failed to arrive. I was then told that my order was for 2 hydrangea that had (conveniently) just been shipped. I queried this, telling them what I had ordered. An email came back saying that I hadn't ordered 72 plug plants, but I had ordered 2 larger hydrangea.
So I went on their website and reordered the 72 hydrangea plug plants, screenshot their confirmation screen and sent it to them, to be told they weren't available and that they'd cancelled my second order and refunded me.
However, they're not sure if they can refund my previous order as they think it's too late to cancel it being dispatched. Even though it is NOT what I actually ordered.
What happens next is anyone's guess, but what a complete waste of my time and very little apology from Suttons.
I would discourage anyone who is thinking of buying from this company. It wouldn't be quite so bad if they hadn't tried to tell me I hadn't ordered what I knew I had ordered and tired to fob me off with something else for my money. If you don't want to be conned and lied to, avoid them!

Good quality plants
I have to say that the bedding plants, hydrangeas, and pre filled hanging baskets I have received his year have all been good quality and have arrived quickly.
I did have plants last year that were not so good but the customer service I received when I complained was excellent and my money was refunded quickly which is why I decided to give them another chance this year.

Awful choice of courier (Whistl)
Followed the tracking link said out for delivery on a Saturday. Waited in all day.
Eventually called Suttons at 5pm to be told that Whistl handed the item over to Royal Mail and the item will be a further 1-3 days.
Also found out that apparently they can be posted through the letterbox (18 Postiplug Plants - nothing on the website actually states this and if i knew they were that small i'd not have placed the order in the first place).
What makes it worse is I paid for this abysmal delivery experience. It's 2022, wake up, your competitors offer a better delivery service that is genuinely tracked.

My tomato plants arrived dead
My tomato plants arrived dead. I called the office and was told more would be sent. After 3 weeks I called again and was told they were out of stock (no one told me). I waited for a refund for over 3 weeks. I chased twice via email. When they did credit my PayPal account it was minus the courier charge. Yet another email and now the full amount has been paid back to me. The plants arrived dead on 28th May. The last of my refund arrived yesterday. I have unsubscribed and won't be using them again
Pre made basket disaster
Ordered pre made hanging basket.
Very disappointed with it. Plants were dying, some were lying in the box rather than in the basket. Heads of plants were off.
Granted some of this could have been done in transit but still the whole order was def not value for money.
I gave 2 stars as customer service dealt with my complaint swiftly.
Won’t use again tho

This company is a huge rip off. I paid for giant fuscia plants and got cuttings! Paid for 14" baskets of double fancy petunias and got 9" baskets of ordinary petunias. They must have children planting them up too as they are so badly done.

Just received a plug geranium 5.99 for…
Just received a plug geranium 5.99 for one but I wanted it for a section in my garden to remember my mum who loved geraniums. I was shocked the plant looks so fragile and weak. I doubt it will survive. I have planted it in a pot and I am keeping it indoors let’s see. But disappointed.
Load of rubbish waste of money
We purchased £60 worth of plants begonias and geraniums we opted to have them treated. We hardened them off and planted them when the risk of Frost had passed. They are still the same size as when we planted them they have not grown despite us feeding then loads died . Absolutely shocking waste of money my garden is normally a show piece . Not with the load of rubbish that you have sent. BETTER GETTING THEM FROM ASDA OR ALDI my friend being an professional gardener he is so please he didn't plant them in his customers gardens rubbish plant stunnted and just abysmal.
High quality plants my A**e we have sent an email which has been ignored.

Terrible service
I placed in my mind a large order with Suttons back in the beginning of April. I think in all I sent 10 emails as firstly when my 12 hanging basket plants arrived five were dead, then when the replacement plants arrived ten survived but are not good quality. The rest of my order came in dribs and drabs. I’d order 3 grafted tomato plants. The first arrived two weeks late then a month later I emailed to chase up my last two plants and assured they would arrive within the week. The next day I was refunded for one plant and not informed, emailed again, received apologies and assured my last plant would arrive shortly even though 2 months late and amazingly was refunded for my final plant. So I then had to reorder two plants from a better company and pay postage again.
How can you order in April and told at the end of June that your plants are out of stock. I will be lucky to get any tomatoes this year.

Very poor hanging baskets --not at all like the brochure!
I ordered two hanging baskets which are a disgrace -with one yellow Dahlia and trailing geranium which are very leggy --very disappointed.
Don’t bother ordering from this company!
This company should be ashamed for the plants it sells. If they are unable to produce healthy plants and be able to ship them safely they should cease doing so. I just want people to be aware that the standards of this company are extremely low so do not expect quality when buying from them.

1 week later numerous items had been cancelled without notification as out of stock, so obviously not picked!

Then told, sorry all items are now out of stock.
Weeks later and without notification ALL CANCELLED, and now too late the purchase from anywhere else.
AVOID THIS APPALLING COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
